Dear VBNF Members and Colleagues:

We had an excellent turn-out at our last meeting in Burnaby, a full house with many new faces. Among the guests are Ali Jamal of Burnaby Board of Trade, Sidney Schultz of Ethno Business Council who took the time to experience our friendly meetings. Consequently, Ali extended an invitation from the Global Economic & Cultural Exchange Association (GECEA) to a seminar/dinner party with the official delegates from the City of Hengshui, China. Alex took some of the VBNF members to the party and continued to network with the participants at the party. Thanks To the Burnaby Board of Trade, we made many new friends and met some old friends. One of my Telus colleagues, Wayne McIntyre, became the President of the North Vancouver, Chamber of Commerce after his career from Telus.

We have also been invited to attend other networking group’s events. We will report how it goes later on.

From time to time, we will invite officials from other networking group to come to our meetings and share their experience with us. John Halani of the Ethno Business Council will be coming to our next Vancouver chapter meeting. Welcome, John. See you at the meeting.

Thanks to Tony Holtzhausen who shared his experience with us on the Taxation issues at the Burnaby meeting. We will be hearing more from Tony soon.
